Round Mountain E-mail

Kinross Gold Corp. proposes to site a new open pit gold mine near the company's Round Mountain mine. The new mine would be located on the western border of the Atla Toquima Wilderness in Nye County, NV.

The Atla Toquima Wilderness contains Mount Jefferson - the highest peak in central Nevada - and Pine Creek, one of the most beautiful destinations in central Nevada. Visitors can enjoy thick groves of aspen and lush riparian areas along the trail, along with spectacular views of the Monitor Valley and Mount Jefferson. Wildlife is plentiful in the area with bighorn sheep, deer, grouse, chukar and native trout.

Round Mountain Action Center

The Nevada BLM has completed scoping for the project and will likely issue the first draft of permit documents for the mine this year. Contact us to find out how to take action now.
